The Horoscopes have been up in the Commune for a few days (check your emails subscribers! <3) and it's the weekend but I'm here to drop some mermaid musings that've been swirling around in my head.

I want to get everyone as excited about this new moon as I am. There is something so sacred about Sagittarius, with their wildness, truth-seeking, and trust. There is something about a new moon next to Saturn at it's last degree in Sagittarius- it is a moment at the end of a long journey. Saturn has been in Sag (view my blog posts on it here) for 2 + 1/2 years. Saturn is our teacher of mastery, commitment, and time. Saturn in Sagittarius has been all about our belief systems- the roots of our hopes and dreams. A long, beautiful, aching learning curve has circled back to the beginning. A complete circle.

The new moon being conjunct Saturn is such a vibrant opportunity for fresh commitments. Mercury retrograde has been so telling because all the strings of the past, present, and future are being pulled for their wisdom so that we can look at what we've learned from right here and now- a vantage point we've never been at before. It may have felt discombobulating because it's been like time traveling through residue ideas, beliefs, emotions, and possibilities. Sifting and sorting.

So this is the moment at the end of a long journey where we ask, "What's next?". This is the moment, right before Saturn moves into Capricorn, that we commit to what exactly we'll be building on. We build with what we actually believe is possible. We build on our principals. We build on our trust and hope. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter- the giver of perspective, potential, and hope. And we feel the building pressure of Saturn more clearly because of the work we've done to figure out what our philosophies are, what our potential is, and what will feed our hope.

What do you actually believe is possible?

We need our hope. We need to know what we know for sure and be willing to learn the rest. We need to be as open and wide as our boundaries are firm and strong. We need to see the aerial view. We need to believe. We need Jupiter!  This is the fertile foundation that Saturn in Capricorn will use to "make our dreams come true".

Capricorn is wonderful for it's seriousness, it's structure, it's commitment. But first, we've had to do the WORK of Jupiter. We've had to dream bigger. We've had to ask the hard questions and tell the fucking truth. We've had to change our minds and grow. We've had to trust the growing pains. Without Jupiter, Saturn is dry AF. Saturn is excruciating and exhausting. Saturn needs a direction, a focus, or it destabilizes. This new moon, you get to choose. You get to recalibrate and hopefully lean into enough clarity that you can say YES or NO as you need to. If you're in between- you get to trust it will come.

the breath of fresh air + fire {current mood}

I'm looking at the chart for the sky right now & DAMN. We got some good stuff going on. I spend a lot of time talking about the hard stuff, like Pluto in Capricorn squares & full moon releases. That is my work. But today, we're gonna talk about what's working for us. What astral support is there for us. I'm feeling like it's okay to take it easy right now. TO BREATHE.

Mars (action) is in Gemini (air). We can take some air. Fresh air. All the transitioning, rebirth, shedding, & reclaiming power is WORK. Being intentional, conscious, & purposeful is exhausting. So looking at the astral mood, I'm thinking we can lean into where we are now. What we have built so far. Mars is playing (trine) with Jupiter in Libra: all the expanding we've done with our principals & ethics for relationships & social engagement gets to be utilized to form connections, affect change, & adapt to learning curves.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury (Hermes)...goes to the Underworld to retrieve messages for the gods. Mars is doing this work- not only communicating messages but enforcing them. Gemini & Libra are Air signs- realms of the mind/thought. There is a choice. You use your agency (Mars) to decide what path (Jupiter) serves you & your relationships (Libra). There are options (Gemini).

This is the breath of fresh air; flexible perspectives with sacred boundaries.

There is also a Saturn in Sag-Uranus in Aries trine is super exciting. Wherever Saturn is in your chart is where you've been building a commitment to candor, truth, & structuring beliefs that expand instead of inhibit you. Where Uranus in Aries is at is being shook the fuck out of in a way that is probably causing a self-revolution that feels chaotic yet radical.

Saturn in Sagittarius makes me think of a bonfire, a big one you take time to construct correctly so it can burn long & you can sit around it philosophizing on life. Uranus in Aries makes me think of fireworks- not just the conventional ones but the ones that make shapes & joy unexpectedly.

Translation:

What we are constructing & what we are deconstructing meet. This is obviously more or less intricate depending on your own chart, but TODAY (this-next week as well) these two transitions are in sync (trine). What's stoking your bonfire & can you see the fireworks? How is your revolution contributing to your commitments & vice-versa? Fire keeps us moving, keeps us going. Being able to evaporate heavy expectations & bring truth to power. This alchemy is easier to tap into right now.  This is opportunity for a breakthrough!

Last aspect I want to touch on is Venus in Aries opposite Jupiter in Libra. I want to talk about how this feels as it is very real for me right now & maybe it is for you too. It feels like a see-saw between what people want you to give & what you need to give for yourself. It feels like wanting, needing more space for righteous relationship yet not knowing who's gonna show up for it. It feels like the liberation of truth &  justice that automatically eliminates those not invested into it. It feels like belonging to yourself yet wanting to belong as well. It feels like endless learning curves yet having to go back to basics over & over again.

It's okay to be here. And it's not about the myth of balance. It is about integration...going back to basics, aligning, & expanding from there. Learning, sharing, & committing to boundaries (Jupiter in Libra) while being unapologetically yourself (Venus in Aries). To my PoC: your existence is resistance. There is more to dig into here that I'll save for later or we can talk 1:1 about what it all means for you. Feel free to muse in the comments too!

In closing, here is a poem that felt like Taurus season to me, by the one & only Pablo Neruda:

Still Another Day
"The days aren't discarded or collected, they are bees
that burned with sweetness or maddened
the sting: the struggle continues,
the journeys go and come between honey and pain.
No, the net of years doesn't unweave: there is no net.
They don't fall drop by drop from a river: there is no river.
Sleep doesn't divide life into halves,
or action, or silence, or honor:
life is like a stone, a single motion,
a bonfire reflected on the leaves,
an arrow, only one, slow or swift, a metal
that climbs or descends burning in your bones."

feel weird, get radical {current mood}

If you're feeling kinda weird, things are only gonna get weirder.

The Sun is going into alien Aquarius tomorrow followed by an Aquarian New Moon on the 27th. This will make the vibe a bit lighter but also zanier. Aquarius is ultimately altruistic, finding they operate best on a detached/objective approach that allows them to reinvent anything. Themselves, preexisting structures, necessary evolutions. Aquarius is always here while also being somewhere else.

Coming after hardcore, ambitious Capricorn & before follow-the-flow Pisces, Aquarius runs an in-between world of contributing (Capricorn) to the collective usually with a disregard for ego (opposite sign of Leo) & an understanding that change is the only constant (Pisces). Tap into this Aquarian approach of objective analysis through subjective evolution all you can to thrive a little easier with the current mood...

There are a lot of squares happening right now. Squares are aspects between planets that create tension, challenge, & conflicting dynamics. Squares are the type of energy you gotta work through- can't go around, under, or over. Straight up figuring out how to work two different aspects of the psyche/personality in a whole way.

For example, right now the lovely Moon in Libra (& Jupiter in Libra, expanding that need)  that only wants peace of mind & delightful collaborations & diplomatic approaches & goddess-like beauty of body & intellect- is being squared by Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto in Capricorn only wants structures/traditions entirely transformed- demolished & regenerated into a more powerfully authentic version that contributes to a collective consciousness of effectiveness.

See how this might be tough? But the combo needs to happen, right? We need collaboration, expansive justice (Jupiter), & peace of mind- but not without a restructuring of everything constricting this internally & societally. Pluto presents quite the power struggle, especially in serious Capricorn. Libra, as always, is the one that will need to compromise & adjust it's desires to what is more fair & realistic for everyone [thing] involved.

Saturn in Sagittarius (yes, the lessons in candor & belief systems & trust are still going on) is squaring Mars in Pisces, then will square Venus in Pisces too. Mars is passion, energy, drive, war, the animus. In Pisces this expresses as a hunt for flow, for release, for transcendence, for escape, spirituality, and/or surrender.

You might be feeling an urge to connect to the unseen more than usual, but Saturn could "weigh you down", asking for realism, honesty, & taking risks. Trusting that unseen while being pragmatic & not compromising on the clarity of your capacity. Noticing where you tend to escape instead of break free. Very different things. Escaping is superficial, temporary, disregards accountability. Breaking free is knowing what is not working for you, what is not for you, what is too heavy to carry anymore.

This is intricately demanding of our being present & in truth & unconditionally loving ourselves- sometimes exhausting. But tangible. So possible. Somewhere inside. Only you know how this translates into your life.

Pluto is also square Uranus in Aries- the revolution will be televised, the warriors will rise, & there will be death to oppression. If we choose a  radical about evolving & have a radical love on hand. A love that says no, says yes, says "I don't know, show me". A love that says, "I'm wrong, I'm here to listen."  A love that lets you breathe, let's you be free.

Writing about the current #astral mood...pulled from @blackandthemoon #arcanaofastrology for direction. #mars #pluto #aries

Right now, talking about Jupiter in Libra means talking about Uranus in Aries, Pluto in Capricorn, Saturn in Sagittarius, & Mars in Aquarius. That's a lot of players in the game...so here's the translation. Because this has been active all month in one way or another & will be active for most of December in the same or other ways.

Jupiter is the Guru God. I mention Jupiter a lot- having Sun in Scorpio conjunct my own Jupiter in Libra... it is my deep belief that we all have the capacity to be our own guru & that the thriving of every relationship depends on the value of perspective & self reflection.

The use of the word guru is appropriative of Hindu religion, so translate it to your own experience (Sagittarius can be pro at this). Rabbi, Preacher, Teacher, Professor, Philosopher, Pastor, Minister, etc. etc. The work of these archetypes is supporting an individuals highest potential through guidance, learning, benevolence, & wisdom.

{Sagittarius can be guilty of appropriation because of it's adoration for culture & sometimes nonchalant |overenthusiastic approach to integrating meaningful symbols/practices/theology}.

Jupiter is wisdom...experience, perspective, learning that expands our belief system & capacity to understand ourselves|Universe in different ways. This is happening on a personal level at an unusual speed for many people....mostly because Jupiter being in Libra means that our beliefs & how the translate into relationships of every kind are under a magnifying glass. And relationships are the most potent reflection of our internal states of being.

Everyone just wants to get along...right?

PLUTO IN CAPRICORN

But Jupiter is squaring (a tense aspect that you cannot go around, over, or under but must go through) Pluto in Capricorn. The transformation (Pluto) of societal structures (Capricorn). The reconstruction (Pluto) of traditions, authority figures, economical security, government, & the like (Capricorn).

So in a deep sense, our relationships|beliefs|values cannot expand until we put something to death- end our contribution to some construct that is not aligned with our relationships|beliefs|values. A very important thing to understand is that this is a long term process. Pluto moves slowly, excruciatingly slowly at times, painfully, & thoroughly.

I said to a friend on the topic of white people awakening to their privilege- "You're not doing it right if you don't feel like something is dying". Extracting yourself from toxic, ancient oppressions (Pluto) that have become systematic (Capricorn) is not easy, simple. But if you are committed it is deeply powerful, transformative, & healing. And it will ping pong right into your relationships|beliefs|values because of Jupiter in Libra. Detox your psyche= expand your love.

URANUS IN ARIES

All of that^ work is part of the revolution of Uranus in Aries. Uranus, the mad genius, the erratic inventor, & altruistic rebel. In Aries this type of radical change moves through individuals taking initiative (Aries). It is anger used as a catalyst, it is the young taking charge, it is a return to basic human rights. Opposite Jupiter in Libra, we see this tug-of-war between voices|leaders who want peace, to create harmony, to bridge gaps & voices|leaders that want immediate change, revolution, no compromise, & engaged in a very present rage.

Astrologically, Uranus was in Aries, fighting for radical revolution, before Jupiter came along in Libra. So doing Uranus will lead to what Libra wants... the vision of equality, justice, & inclusion of Jupiter in Libra needs the fire, work, & innovative energy of Uranus in Aries. Pluto in Cappy is clearly saying that what has always been done will no longer work. We must reinvent the vision, adjust the application, create the unity of resistance.

SATURN IN SAGITTARIUS

All of that^ work requires the candid approach that Saturn in Sag is teaching us all. Sagittarius is traditionally ruled by Jupiter, & Saturn is the traditional ruler of Capricorn (seeing the connection, the story, now?). Sagittarius is honest, blunt, direct, straight forward. No tolerance for bullshit unless that bullshit is overenthusiastic support of righteousness, adventure, justice, & truth. I know, is it even possible to be overenthusiastic about that!?

Tolerance is not integration. Sag energy is sometimes to quick to trust without thorough evaluation of the character/structure/foundation of people|places|things, & that is what Saturn is here to teach, along with transparency, commitment to truth, & trusting the process of the Universe.

MARS IN AQUARIUS

Mars is only in Aquarius until the 19th, but it is an important short-term player. Mars is traditionally the ruler of Aries (yes, astrology is hype on interconnectedness), and Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, which is in Aries right now.

Translation: Mars is at work waking us up wherever we are stuck, stagnant, asleep. Aquarius brings objectivity- Mars is bringing that to us in a personal way by hitting us hard in areas where we might be too subjective, too stubborn. It's also showing us ways we can be a part of bigger movements (Aquarius) by utilizing our individual drives|passions|energy (Mars).

ON the other hand, it is also going around making people very uncomfortable by causing chaos concerning what they think the world is, how authentic their contribution to humanity is, or triggering their resistance towards the unconventional, the radical, the erratic- really any reconstruction.

This is Mars tho- so you must leave other people to their shit. Do not attempt to inform or stir up where people are ultra-resistant. They have work to do & you have work to do that will more productively contribute to your own Vision. Always stand up, always speak up, always fight for equity, but do not misdirect your energy. This takes instinctual (Mars) navigation...

I hope this is a helpful astral analysis that will comfort you in that you are not alone, that this is a cycle bigger than you, but that you can also work this energy in a discerning way by knowing what paradoxes/complications/urges you're dealing with. I do this kind of analysis in my Transitions readings as well, looking at the climate of your own chart.

...until next week...

"Do no harm, take no shit."
