there is a new moon in capricorn on january 16 & the 'scopes (which you can subscribe to anytime) are in process, with lots of saturn support. I'm writing here tonight tho because since saturn went into capricorn, I've been thinking about how it will shape our collective movements. from my facebook page: "everybody is under saturn. all the time. it is a collective planet. especially so while saturn is in capricorn. It’s like saturn having a saturn return. and those of you with planets in capricorn will be feeling this the most. don’t fear taking yourself seriously because you think it means disappointment by default. there is a different way & the way in is through loving, not hating, yourself." I think this also applies to the way we resist & contribute to the freedom & equity of the marginalized. how deeply are we committed? are we afraid to commit to justice because it feels unachievable? because it seems so eternally out of reach? because we cannot find it possible that we can love ourselves & each other enough to stay committed?
I feel that there is so much reframing, constant learning & unlearning, to be done in the way we practice liberation. I do not think it is linear, I do not think it can only be result-oriented. there are so many layers & contexts & nuances. too many for the structured solution-making way saturn operates. but what I do think that saturn can bring to our awareness, what saturn gives us to stand on is unconditionality. and in all the breadth & depths of the need to be flexible that we have in our movements, to be fluid & learn what it is to follow flow, we need things to stand on. saturn commits unconditionally- yes, with that much clarity to be able to say, "this is what I want, this is what I work for, this is what I am invested in", without shaking.
so it has me thinking that solidarity isn't about spreading ourselves thin to cover all the bases of what we think we're supposed to be on board with. it isn't just about jupiter (expansion, beliefs, learning) but saturn. commitments, foundations, stabilization. solidarity isn't just about what you know to be true (jupiter) but what you are 100% committed to. what you are wiling to invest in, change for, contribute to, build on. solidarity is solid. as. fuck. I think we understand this on a rational level but I think it saturn will also teach us to integrate it on an interpersonal & individual level because to be committed, we need to know our capacity. we need to know the weight of what we carry. we need to know our investments & what unconditionality means to us. this is how we stay grounded & our aim stays steady.
