full moon in capricorn {mermaid musings}

As a Scorpio, I think a lot about power. Scorpio is ruled by Mars & Pluto, the god of war & death, respectively. We're getting a flavor of this with the Full Moon as it is ON Pluto & across from Mars in Cancer. In translation: our intuitive, emotional desires (Cancer) vs. the structured earth dynamics of Capricorn. Sounds like a battle, but when planets are opposing the message is more about integration. How do we work with both? How do we work with our soft flow & our steady strength?

Pluto is transformation- the Phoenix rising & the ashes. Pluto is also power, for this reason. Because it takes an enormous amount of will, strength, & commitment to rebirth. Maybe something is dying for you on this Full Moon, flaming into ashes. Maybe something is regenerating. Whatever it is, don't let fear hold you in or paralyze you. Take your fucking power back, or call it in.

I don't think we can only fear or crave power. I think it's often a combination of both. Being afraid of how powerful we are while craving full reign of it is natural. It's that paradox that keeps us struggling with it. And power is good. It is healthy. It is what creates boundaries, makes decisions, has clear missions, & heals. Yet it can also take dangerous forms.

Power without integrity. Power without accountability. Power without humility. Power without practicality. Power without interconnectedness. Power without transparency. Power without wisdom. Power without generosity. Power without love.

When power dynamics come out to play this weekend, use strategies that honor intuition & healthy power. Be receptive to learning about ways that you've feared or misused your own power. Capricorn is the pro at getting shit done- stay grounded in the practical even as you make some time to delve into the waters of Cancer where you can find love & soothing.

Ultimately, the Full Moon in Capricorn on Pluto is about healing. Healing the way power has been misused or abused in our lives. Healing our relationship to it. Healing the structures that support or limit us. Healing the repression of our desires into full expression. Healing the broken places in our commitments- to love, to our selves, to our work. So we can use our power to help heal this world. Tikkun Olam.
